A note from Matt dated 9 Jul

Well another Sudnay is here. We've got one week down, only 8more to go. We're suppossed to get inot some more serious, required training..victory tower, gas chamber etc. Last night was interesting. 3 females and 4 or 5 males were caught trying to talk to each other out the windows. It was stupid because it was on the front of the building where the DS's come and go. then no one would admit it. So, we got woken up once an hour for 3 hours for PT. Not much fun. Luckily the males and 2 of the females were from another platoon. One of the females was fro our platton, but she fessed up really early. they all got counceling statements and I think some got articles 15s. A bunch of damned idiots. My mon sent me a card and said that my dad had an interview this past Wednesday. I hope it wen well. She sent a couple of pictures from his fishing trip. They caught a bunch of fish. It looked like thy had some pretty good fun. Im a little worried about Lighting. I hope he makes it throgh till December. Im looking forward to getting training underway. We have been doing some PT, but nothing too heavy. the hardes day was July 4 when we did outside beautification. I was on the roc and san crew that shoveled all of the louds onto the one ton truck. I've got some listers to show for it. I got to ride in the cab of the truck on the way back w/ the DS that calls me the "Smart Private". I was bust some ass and he noticed. We got our first cycle of laundry service yesterday. They pick up and drop 2x/week. Monday out Wed. in and Wed out Friday/Sat. in. I may buy another set of PTs so Ill have 5. Nothing worse than dirty, smelly PTs after a shower. No powder can help. I seat so much during the day that there is really no smell. I've probably already lost 10lbs, amily because we are constantly on the go and on our feet. The ACUs are much better after a washing. Ill have 2 more pairs in the wash on Monday. I got a letter off to Jack and Deb, Ill be interested to hear all fo the gossip.
