Well, here it begins. This serves as a journal of sorts for family and friends while I'm away. I am a little less than 2 weeks to my ship date. June 22, I head to Ft. Jackson, SC for BCT (Basic Combat Training). I guess you will all be learning the acronyms of the US Army right along with me. There are quite a few.

This journal will contain a number of letters to Stacy, messages to some of you, links to web sites that you might find interesting and hopefully any pictures that are taken along the way. You will have the opportunity to get to know a little about the woman I'll very happily be spending the rest of my life with, as she'll be narrating you through my (our) experiences.

I'll be posting up until I leave when time permits. Also, as soon as I have my mailing address, we'll get it out all of you. Mail at basic is always welcome and I'll reply as time allows.
